Jack B. Avery

May 23, 1940 – Sept. 7, 2003

Jack B. Avery, 63, of Knightstown, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 7 at Henry County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 23, 1940 in Indianapolis, a son of Willard M. and Margaret (Barrett) Avery.

Mr. Avery was employed at Farm Credit Services in Rushville for over 38 years. He was a former member of the Knightstown Masonic Lodge and a member of the Walnut Council of Indiana. He enjoyed bicycling, tree farming and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Judith (Myers) Avery whom he married August 10, 1968; two sons, Brock (wife Anna) Avery of Indianapolis, and Brandon Avery of Los Angeles, Calif.; one daughter, Meredith (husband Christopher) McDonald of Knightstown; one granddaughter, Lydia Avery; his father, Willard M. Avery of Knightstown; and one brother, Max Avery of Knightstown.

He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Barrett Avery.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, September 10) at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Dee B. Carmichael and Chris Sitler officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 9.
