Virginia Mae Cottrell

May 19, 1911 – Sept. 1, 2003

Virginia Mae Cottrell, 92, a former resident of Shirley, died Monday, September 1 at Lakeview Care Center in Carmel. She was born May 19, 1911 in Spencer, W.V., a daughter of the late Hoy and Pearl (McIntire) Glaze.

Mrs. Cottreell grew up in Sinking Springs, Ohio and was a homemaker. She was a cake decorator and had worked for Massey’s Drug Store in Shirley.

She is survived by two sons, John (wife Nancy) Cottrell of Carmel and Robert (wife Sharon) Cottrell of Culleoka, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Shelley Roettger, Brian Cottrell, Amanda Hill and Sam Cottrell; two great-grandchildren, Madelyn Roettger and Evan Roettger; two sisters, Pauline Williams of Hillsboro, Ohio and Jayne Wolfram of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Cottrell and three brothers, Columbus, Herbert and Lewis Glaze.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Jon Day officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 4.
