Dorothy E. Schweizer

July 20, 1922 – Aug. 17, 2003

Dorothy E. Schweizer, 81, of Knightstown died Sunday, August 17 in Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. She was born July 20, 1922 in Economy, a daughter of Elvin and Cora (Wine) Swain.

Dorothy, who had lived in Knightstown most of her life, was a retired schoolteacher from the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Home. She was a member of the Knightstown Methodist Church and a member of the Retired Indiana Teachers Association. She married Kenrick Schweizer and he preceded her in death in 1958.

She is survived by one son, Jeffery Schweizer of Indianapolis; two brothers, Albert Swain of Lynn and Robert Swain of Richmond; three sisters, Hazel Swain and Helen Bennett, both of Richmond, and Edith Rinard of Muncie; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenrick A. (Kenny) Schweizer in September 2001; one brother and one sister.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, August 20) at the Knightstown Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Brackney officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday, August 19 at Todd Funeral Home, Butcher Chapel, Knightstown.
