Nora Tucker

July 8, 1912 - June 19, 2003

Nora "Toots" (Kennedy) Tucker, 90, of Markleville, died Thursday, June 19 at Rawlins House Healthcare in Pendleton. She was born July 8, 1912, a daughter of the late William R. and Nora A. (Titus) Kennedy.

Toots lived most of her life in the Markleville area where she became a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During her life she worked on the farm, as a cook and owned "The Arabian Inn," worked for Sczensy's Market and retired from Pay Less Supermarket. She was happiest when she was around children or helping others, even while in the nursing home. She was a member of the Markleville Eastern Star #363, Markleville Alumi class of 1930, Wilkinson and Kennard Brotherhood and Sisterhood and the Markleville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne (husband Richard) Robinson; grandson, Marvin (wife Samantha) Scott and his children, Victoria, Jeremy, Jordan and Brandon; a brother, Earl (wife Pat) Kennedy; niece, Emilia (husband Richard) Etchison and their daughter, Linda (husband Mike) Frazee and children Leslie and family, Matt and Travis, Teresa (friend Lynn) Etichison, Kay (husband John) Joy and children, April and family and Megan; brother-in-law, Charles Norris; step-grandchildren, Rich A. Robinson, Greg (wife Terri) Robinson and their children, Justin, Logan and Makayla, and Angela (husband Jason) Penney; a special nephew Lawrence (wife Doris) Tucker and special neighbor, Sandra (husband, Gar) Greathouse; along with an extended family, cousins and a host of friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence; a sister, Mabel Sparks Norris; stepmother, special friend and ex-husband.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 21 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Gerald Burnett and Rev. Mike Woods officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 3-8 Friday, June 27 with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 p.m.
