Andrew P. Davis

Apr. 28, 1913 - June 22, 2003

Andrew P. "Andy" Davis, 90, a resident of Wilkinson, died Sunday, June 22 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1913 in Blacksburg, Va., a son of the late Charley T. and Ocia (Richardson) Davis.

Mr. Davis was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1978 from Sears and Roebuck in Anderson and is a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, James A. Davis of Pendleton; two granddaughters; two step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; two step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; two brothers, Emmitt Davis of Wilkinson and Lowry "Chic" Davis of Fortville; five half-brothers, Lawrence Davis of Kentucky, Harmon Davis of Florida, Nalvin Davis of Catarack, Dale Davis of Markleville and Clifford Davis of Catarack; six half-sisters, Bertha Lee Sharp of Florida, Mary Lou McDonald of Anderson, Marie Godberry of Mechanicsburg, Geraldine Perkins of Willow Branch, Arlene Merchant of Catarack and Martha Ann Willis.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Whitinger) Davis in 1985.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Wilkinson Church of Christ with Jeff Sawyer and Joe Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Friends may call at the Condo & Son Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 25). Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilkinson Church of Christ.
