Charlene R. Stoten

Apr. 10, 1922 - June 11, 2003

Charlene R. Stoten, 81, died Wednesday, June 11 at her rural Knightstown home. She was born April 19, 1922 in Columbus, a daughter of the late Virgil T. and Florence A. (Fewell) Fortner.

Mrs. Stoten, a homemaker, lived many years in Center Township, Rush County. She was a member of the Center Christian Church where she was active in the Loyal Workers Women's Group. Charlene married Lowell E. Stoten on November 1, 1941.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell E. Stoten; one son, Jack L. Stoten of Center Township; one daughter, Jean A. (husband Larry) John of Shelbyville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

Services were held Saturday, June 14 at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville with Bill Worrell officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, June 13 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Hospice of Decatur County.
