Kathryn Brown

May 8, 1916 - June 2, 2003

Kathryn "Kate" Brown, 87, a former resident of Kennard, died Monday, June 2 at Markle Health Care Center in Markle. She was born May 8, 1916 in Henry County, a daughter of the late Erskine and Goldie (Kellum) Cook.

Mrs. Brown attended Knightstown High School. After marriage in 1937, she and her husband moved around and settled in Kennard where they spent most of their days. She as an avid bowler at Rose Bowl in New Castle and was a member of the Kennard Friends Church.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Katie Brown of Ft. Wayne and Jodi Wagner of Anderson, five great-grandchildren, three sisters and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell Brown in 2000; and children, Sharon Gordon in 1989 and Mike Brown in 2000.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, June 5 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Howard Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Harlan Cemetery in Wilkinson. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
