Francis DeWitt

Mar. 12, 1927 - June 1, 2003

Frances DeWitt, 76, died Sunday, June 1 at her residence near Carthage. Her death occurred only 12 hours after the death of her sister, Donna J. Hiner. She was born March 12, 1927 in Fairmount, a daughter of the late Clayton and Velma (Bennett) Todd.

Mrs. DeWitt had been an assembly worker at Western Electric. She married Perry Elmer DeWitt, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2002.

Surviving are three sons, Richard Lee DeWitt and Dennis Lynn DeWitt, both of Carthage, and Ron Del DeWitt of Brownsburg; one brother, Kenneth Todd of Knightstown; four sisters, Betty Lou Dean of Knightstown, Shirley Whitfield of Carthage, Patty DeWitt of Rushville and Sharon Roberts of Carthage; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 4) at Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel in Carthage with Rev. Rick Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation for family and friends was at the funeral home Tuesday, June 3.
