Elmer E. Wilson, Jr.

Oct. 26, 1929 - Apr. 28, 2003

Elmer E. Wilson, Jr., 73, a resident of Anderson and a former resident of Pendleton, died Monday, April 28 at Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born October 26, 1929 in Knightstown, a son of the late Elmer Earnest and Flora Jane (Smith) Wilson, Sr.

Mr. Wilson had worked in the Maintenance Department at Pendleton Heights High School for 18 years and had operated the Sunglow Service Station in Maxwell. He was a member of the Shirley Masonic Lodge #531 and a past patron of the Shirley Order of the Eastern Star #491. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis (Kissick) Wilson of Anderson; one daughter, Janet (husband Mark) Nugent of Anderson; one son, Elmer Eugene (wife Judy) Wilson of Elizabethtown, Ky.; three grandchildren, Dr. Heather (husband Juan Carlos) Vargas of Anderson, Jason (fiancée Ashley Gray) Nugent of Anderson, and Drew Wilson of Elizabethtown, Ky.; one brother, Bob Wilson of Markleville; and several nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Linda Marie Wilson and a sister, Norma Jean Wilson, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Mike Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 1 with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
