Edith Elaine Hogan

July 30, 1925 - Apr. 17, 2003

Edith Elaine Hogan, 77, of Knightstown, died Thursday, April 17 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born July 30, 1925 in Antrim County, Mich., a daughter of the late Percy and Ruby (Wilson) Empey.

A homemaker, Mrs. Hogan had worked at Fairmount Glass years ago. She was a member of Raysville Friends Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Jean (husband Michael) Johnson of Knightstown; one son, Dean Alvin (wife Melissa) Hogan of Knightstown; three grandchildren, Steven Nicholas Johnson, James Hogan and Heather Hogan; four step-grandchildren, Beth Jones, Linda Stoten, Brenda Mitchell and Jon Johnson; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Oberly of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Hogan in 1986; one son, Steven Hogan; three brothers, Ken, Norm and Donald Empey; and one sister, Lorrine Jean Empey.

Services were held Monday, April 21 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Rev. Gene Lewis officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home Sunday, April 20.
