Mabel Hibbard

Aug. 16, 1913 - Apr. 2, 2003

Mabel (Riggs) Hibbard, 89, a resident of Shirley, died Wednesday, April 2 in Rawlins House Convalescent Center in Pendleton, following a long illness. She was born August 16, 1913 in Henry County, a daughter of the late Ora and Emma Hendricks Riggs.

Mrs. Hibbard retired from Engineering Research at Oaklandon, and had worked at Ruth's Odds & Ends in Shirley.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Friddle of Wilkinson, and Sheila (husband David) Brammer of Shirley; four grandchildren, Doug (wife Debbie) Friddle, Pam, (husband Steve) Price, Denise (husband Jason) Bever and Stacey (husband Stuart) Poe; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elias Hibbard in 1959, six brothers, Cecil, Jesse, Fay, Fred, Don and Quincy, and one infant sister, Ruby Riggs.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5 at Condo & Son Funeral Home with burial in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday, April 4 at the funeral home.
