Marie E. Walter

June 6, 1915 - Mar. 31, 2003

Marie E. Walter, 87, of Dunreith, died Monday, March 31 at The Waters of New Castle following an extended illness. She was born June 6, 1915 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Dinkins) Goar.

Mrs. Walter was one of Jehovah's Witnesses where she had attended Kingdom Hall in Knightstown and presently in Rushville. She enjoyed painting and studying the Bible with many people.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Joseph Eugene Walter of Dunreith; three nieces, Lois Stanley of Spiceland, Sherry (husband Norman) Nicholas of Rushville and Jane Hankla of Indianapolis; a nephew, Phil (wife Susan) Walter of Florida; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters: Alma Wooten, Lee Goar and Eileen and Keith Goar.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Knightstown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Don Sparks officiating. Burial will be Circle Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness or Watchtower Society. All arrangements are being handled by Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service.
