Roberta F. Carr-Hanna

Oct. 20, 1914 - Mar. 20, 2003

Roberta F. Carr-Hanna, 88, a resident of Shirley, died Thursday, March 20 at Americare Healthcare in New Castle. She was born October 20, 1914 in Indiana, a daughter of the late Webb and Fay (Anderson) Beatty.

Mrs. Carr-Hanna was retired from GW Pierce Auto Parts in Spiceland and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church and was a former member of Spiceland United Methodist Church. Also, she was a 69-year member of the Shirley Eastern Star # 492 and a member of the Wilkinson Lilac Literary Club and the Golden Mary Makers.

Surviving are two sons, Ray (wife Marilyn) Carr of Texas, and Jay Dee (wife Beth) Carr of Spiceland; two stepsons, Richard (wife Carolyn) Hanna of Shirley, and Myron (wife Kathy) Hanna of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Beatty of Florida; one sister, Bonita Grandison of Knightstown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Jay Carr in 1981, second husband, Earl Hanna in 1999; two brothers, Doyle and Gene Beatty; and two sisters, Donna Beatty and Gleeta Scarborough.

Funeral services were held Monday in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Kurt Stone officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.

Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 23 at the funeral home with an Eastern Star service at 5 p.m.
