Ellen Mae Hudelson

June 9, 1917 - Mar. 5, 2003

Ellen Mae Hudelson, 85, of Knightstown, died Wednesday, March 5 in Community East Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness. She was born June 9, 1917 in Rush County, a daughter of the late Edd and Ethel (Lummis) Gurley.

A homemaker most of his life, she and her husband owned and operated Hudelson Plumbing and Heating in Knightstown for over 26 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Knightstown for 70 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly K. (husband Robert) Hall of Knightstown; a granddaughter, Susan K. Hall of Indianapolis; a grandson, Richard "Ric" (wife Mary) Hall of Knightstown; two great-granddaughters, Shelby Hall and Samantha Schetgen, both of Knightstown; a great-grandson, Jacob Shetgen of Knightstown; a brother, Ray (wife Edna) Gurley of Avon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hudelson, whom she married June 12, 1937 and who died July 22, 1974; two brothers, Byron and Wendell Gurley; and one sister, Hilda Gurley Sinischo.

Services were held Monday, March 10, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends was at the funeral home Sunday, March 9.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Knightstown.
