Margaret L. Deck

May 12, 1919 - Feb. 26, 2003

Margaret L. Deck, 83, died Wednesday, February 26 at her home in Knightstown. Mrs. Deck was born May 12, 1919 in Bayou Meto, Ark., a daughter of Walter and Dora (Chaddic) Houghton. She married Jasper M. Deck on August 28, 1946 and he died on July 10, 1985.

Margaret was a member of Grant Wesleyan Church and a member of the church's Women's Missionary Society.

Survivors include six daughters, Norma "Katy" Griffin of Middletown, Evelyn (husband Ronald) Smarz of Knightstown, Patricia (husband Ronnie) Parham of Ogden, Nancy (husband Jack) Smith of Ogden, Donna (husband Tim) Scarce, Spiceland, and Barbara (husband David) Sexton of Spiceland; one sister, Ruth Lee Yarbarough of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-grand-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, March 3 at the Todd Funeral Home, Butcher Chapel in Knightstown with Rev. Larry Basey officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday, March 2 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Grant City Wesleyan Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
