James Cecil Criswell

Feb. 3, 1933 - Feb. 24, 2003

James Cecil Criswell, 70, former resident of Carthage, died Monday, February 24 in Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. He was born February 3, 1933 in Lewis County, Ky., a son of the late Jonathan and Ellen (Butler) Criswell.

Mr. Criswell had worked as a general laborer.

Survivors include one son, Rev. Cecil Allen Krieg of Ft. Wayne; one daughter, Cecilia Diane Challen of Kingston, N.Y.; two brothers, Larry Criswell of Zeeland, Mich. and Phil Criswell of Holland, Mich.; two sisters, Inez Hall of North Vernon and Hester Shelby of Fortville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Criswell and one brother, Lee Parsons.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at the Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel in  Carthage. Burial will be in the Carthage Town Cemetery. Friends may call at the Todd Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
