Lawrence H. Evans
May 8, 1941 - Feb. 11, 2003
Lawrence "Tiny" Evans, 51, of Greenfield and formerly of Carthage, died Tuesday, February 11 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born May 8, 1941 in Carthage, a son of the late Raymond Evans and Ruby (Porter) Evans Campbell.
Mr. Evans was a 13-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Rushville Baptist Temple and a former member of the Rushville V.F.W. and American Legion. He had been employed as a pipe fitter.
Survivors include three sisters, Sue Dunagan of Fairland, Anne (husband Jack) Vanderboom of Rhinelander, Wisc., and Judy (husband John) Williams of Fairland; six brothers, Jack (wife Emily) Evans of Greenfield, Larry (wife Julie) Evans of Greenfield, Garry (wife Gay) Evans of Rushville, Ron (wife Juanita) Evans of Tomahawk, Wisc., Robert Campbell of Rushville, and Roger (wife Jane) Campbell of Carthage; two sisters-in-law, Henrietta Evans of Greenfield and Darlene Evans of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Evans was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Evans and Raymond Evans and one brother-in-law, Howard Dunagan.
Funeral services for Mr. Evans will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 14 at the Fletcher United Methodist Church in Carthage with Pastors Garry Evans and Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will be made in Center Cemetery near Mays. Friends may call at the Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel, Carthage on Thursday, February 13 from 4-8 p.m.
