Virginia A. Gorman

June 10, 1947 - Jan. 16, 2003

Virginia A. Gorman, 81, a former Knightstown resident, died Thursday, January 16 at Morristown Manor Nursing Center in Morristown. She was born March 26, 1921 in Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Fred and Maude (Dunlap) Ayers.

On June 10, 1947, she married Lawrence Gorman who preceded her in death on March 12, 2002. Mrs. Gorman was a homemaker and attended Raysville Friends Church.

Surviving are three sons, Lawrence Gorman, Jr. of Punda Gorda, Fla., Duane (wife Kyong) Gorman of Knightstown, and Monte (wife Roxie) Gorman of Knightstown; three daughters, Ginger Loveall of Knightstown, Sandy Back of Greenfield and Susan Smith of Rushville; one sister, Marilyn Law of Indianapolis; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Jones of Winchester, a step-daughter, Sarah (Peggy) Akers of Rushville, two brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, January 21 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, with Rev. Leonard Dice officiating. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association. Todd Funeral Home, Butcher Chapel in Knightstown handled the arrangements.
