Harold A. Davis

Harold A. Davis, 83, of Carthage, died Friday, June 1 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.
He was born on April 1, 1918 in Clay Township in Decatur County, a son of the late Ligonal Davis, Sr. and Ethel (Parks) Davis. On December 23, 1939, he married Alice (Pettit) Davis, who survives.
Mr. Davis was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Union Chapel Methodist Church, Rushville Eagles Lodge, Rush County Farm Bureau and was a retired member of the Carthage Volunteer Fire Dept.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Darrel (wife Anne) Davis, Palmetto, FL, Alvin (wife Doris) Davis, New Castle, and Carl Davis, Greenfield; three daughters, Martha A. West, Carthage, Kay (husband Dahl), Arlington, and Ruth (husband Jerry) May, Arlington; three brothers, John Davis, Greensburg, Wilbur Davis and Wilbur Davis, both of Greensburg, and Ligonal Davis, Jr. of Shelbyville; four sisters, Helen Wasson and Mable Mount, both of Greensburg, Norma Jean Massman, Oregon, and Ethel May Soroko of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (today), June 6 at 10 a.m. at the Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel in Carthage with Rev. David Bonne and Rev. Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery at Arlington.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 5 at the Todd Funeral Home.
