Ellen M. Lane

Aug. 15, 1951 – Apr. 26, 2001

Ellen M. Lane, 49, of Pershing, died Thursday, April 26, at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis.

She was born Aug. 15, 1951 in New Castle, a daughter of Bernard L. and Mary Stevens Runyon.

Mrs. Lane taught school at Charles A. Beard Elementary School in Knightstown for 20 years. She was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City. Ellen graduated in 1973 from Ball State University and received her masters there in 1975. An avid IU fan, she was a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association, a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and Cambridge City Christian Church.

In addition to her parents of Cambridge City, she is survived by her husband, Daryl J. of Pershing. Services were Monday, April 30 at Cambridge City Christian Church with Tracy Wright officiating. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing.

Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Memorial contributions may be made to Cambridge City.
