William W. George

Jan. 9, 1923 – Apr. 8, 2001

William W. George, 78, of Richmond, and formerly of Wilkinson, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 8, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.

He was born January 9, 1923, in Wilkinson, a son of the late Paul and Ada (Gipe) George.

He retired from Delco Remy Model Shop of Anderson in 1975 after 34 years of service. He was a WW II Army Veteran Staff Sergeant.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Mavis (Stanley) George of Richmond; one son, Terry George of Anderson; one daughter, Rhonda (husband, John) Simpson of McCordsville; two granddaughters and three cousins.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10 at the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial was in McCray Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
