R. Gary Schatzlein
May 10, 1953 – Apr. 6, 2001
Memorial services for R. Gary Schatzlein 47, Indianapolis, formerly of Knightstown, will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12 in Bethel Presbyterian Church, Knightstown. Friends and family are invited to remember Gary and celebrate his life with prayers, music and words. Graveside services will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
Gary was born in Knightstown May 10, 1953, a son of George and Helen Schatzlein of Indianapolis. The Schatzleins were long-time residents of Knightstown and the owners of Schatzleins Florists for many years.
Gary died April 6 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He graduated from Knightstown High School and attended Indiana University.
Gary and his brother, Dr. Michael Schatzlein of Ft. Wayne, founded TRC Corporation in 1972. In 1984, TRC moved its expanded state of the art facilities to 5761 Park Plaza Court in Indianapolis. He was a prominent figure in the Indiana, Indianapolis and national music, audio recording and advertising industries and was president of TRC Studios for nearly 30 years.
He was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church, The Columbia Club, American Federation of Musicians, AFTRA and The Advertising Club.
Survivors include three sons, Jonathan, Jameson and George, his parents and brother.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jonathan, Jameson and George Account at Huntington National Bank, 11555 N. Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46038.
Leppert & Hensley Mortuary, Nora Chapel, are handling arrangements.
