Barbara Maxine Stinson
June 4, 1914 – Mar. 18, 2001
Barbara Maxine (Maple) Stinson, 86, Greenfield, died March 18 at Regency Place in Greenfield following an extended illness. She was born in Wilkinson June 4, 1914, a daughter of Walter and Jessie Maple, and lived in this area all of her life.
Mrs. Stinson and her husband owned and operated the Cozy Corner Restaurant in Markleville. She was also employed with Wm. H. Block Co. and Pierce Governor for several years. The 1932 graduate of Wilkinson High School was an avid needle pointer, IU basketball fan and had received national recognition for her penmanship.
One son, Jack Stinson of Markleville; one grandson, John Stinson III of Markleville; one sister, Patricia Snider of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Cindi Fox, survive her.
Her husband, Bennie Stinson who died July 5, 1966, two brothers and one sister, preceded Mrs. Stinson in death.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at the Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. Burial will be in McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
