Oris E. Gosser

Feb. 25, 1912 – Feb. 23, 2001

Oris E. Gosser, 88, a longtime Wilkinson resident, died Friday February 23 at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield following a brief illness.

He was born Feb. 25, 1912 in Russell County from Guide Lamp of Anderson in 1974 after 22 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 663.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Angie (McGowan) Gosser of Wilkinson; a son, Ed (wife, Laura) Gosser of Anderson; three daughters, Versie (Husband, Tom) Gray of Fort Wayne, Jewel A. (husband, Roscoe) Mofield of Marion, Ohio; Irene (husband, Weldon) Vincent of Wilkinson; three half-sisters, Roberta Gosser, Berniece Gosser and Jackie Gosser, all of Russell Springs, Ky.; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Lee Gosser, and his stepmother, Ellen Gosser.

Services were Tuesday, February 27 at 10 a.m. at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson Burial followed in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was Monday, February 26 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
