Robert Ayres Clarkson
Nov. 16, 1927 – Feb. 17, 2001
Robert Ayres Clarkson, 73, of Cadiz died Saturday, February 17 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 16, 1927 in North Vernon, a son of the late Lawrence and Rev. Irene (Day) Clarkson.
Clarkson retired from Anaconda after 33 years of services. He was a member of Main Street Church of God in Anderson. He also attended Mechanicsburg Church of God. Clarkson was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary L. (McCracken) Clarkson; three sons, Robert A. Clarkson Sr. (Wife, Rachel) of Anderson, Timothy Clarkson at home, David L. Clarkson (wife, Alana) of Middletown; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Debbie) Barth of Middletown, Mrs. Jerry (Glenda) Kemp of Lapel; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Krieg of Anderson, Mrs. Clay (Martha) Kimble of Markleville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Clarkson, and one great granddaughter, Katrina Clarkson.
Services were Wednesday; February 21 at 10 a.m. at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Glen Skinner and Allen Polston officiating Burial took place in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was Tuesday, February 20 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
