Cloma Sparks

May 17, 1907 – Jan. 11, 2001

Cloma Sparks, 93, a lifelong resident of Wilkinson, died Thursday, January 11 at Regency Place Convalescent Center in Greenfield following an extended illness.

She was born May 17, 1907 in Wilkinson, a daughter of the late Charles and Nettie (Bates) Holliday. She was a lifelong member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ and a charter member of the Brown Township Home Economics Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Zapf Greenfield; two sons, Kenneth Sparks of Okemos, MI, Robert Sparks of New Castle; nine grandchildren; one brother, Glen Holliday of Wilkinson; several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Charles Sparks, preceded her in death on March 7, 1988. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Paul and Carl Holliday, and a sister, Thelma Friddle.

Services were Monday, January 15 at 10 a.m. in the Wilkinson Church of Christ with Jon Day, Jack Holliday and Jeff Sewyer officiating. Visitation was Sunday, January 14 from 3-8 p.m. at Condo & Son Funeral home in Wilkinson. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wilkinson Church of Christ of Zapf Scholarship Fund.
