Auderene Hamilton

June 20, 1918 - Jan. 1, 2001

Auderene Hamilton, 82, of Knightstown died Monday, January 1 at Select Specialty Care, Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, after a short illness brought on by an auto accident.

She was born in Olive Hill, KY on June 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Tom and Ida Duncan Richmond. She was a Knightstown resident for 60 years. She retired from RCA in 1973.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Rhodes of Knightstown, Claudette “Bonnie” (husband, Bobby) Rhodes of Knightstown; a son, Gary L. Hamilton of Richmond; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; eight great, great grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas J. Richmond and Gilbert Richmond, both of Richmond; two sisters, Lucille Withrow of Pedro, Ohio, Earline Porter of Marion; a daughter-in-law, Sally Hamilton of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude E. Hamilton in March 1988, a son, Cobern Hamilton in August 1998; two brothers, Noah and Webster Richmond, and a sister, Irene Crabtree.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 4 at 2 p.m. at Greene’s Funeral Home in Knightstown with Reverend Randy Gross officiating. Burial will followed in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is Wednesday, January 3 from 2-8 p.m. at Greene’s Funeral Home in Knightstown. Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville is handling arrangements.
