Arnold Butler

Mar. 21, 1927 - Dec. 28, 2000

Arnold C. Butler, 73, of Knightstown died Thursday, December 28 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL.

He was born March 21, 1927 in Tripplett, KY, a son of the late John and Stella (Eagan) Butler.

He retired from the City of Knightstown as town Marshall in 1979 after 22 years of service. He also served as the city’s town manager for 10 years and received the 1968 Citizen of the Year Award from the Knightstown Chamber of Commerce. He was a veteran of World War 2 having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Knightstown Ameri-can Legion Post 152, the Whittier Lane Baptist Church of New Castle, and attended the Bible Baptist Church in Crystal River, FL. He was a fantastic husband and father.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gloria (Brown) Butler of Knightstown; two sons, Cliff (wife Lois) Butler, Chuck (wife, Julie) Butler, both of Knightstown; a daughter, Ginnie (husband, Andy) Benz of Connersville; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Naomi Jackson and Charlene Jensen, both of Knightstown, Leatha Redmon of Greenfield, Sheila Rawlins of Charlottesville; seven brothers, Carl, Johnny, Ray, Harold, and Hayden, all of Knightstown, Leon of Greenfield, Richard of Spiceland; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 4 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Frank Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is Wednesday, January 3 from 1-8 p.m. at Condo & Son Funeral Home.
