 KHS Principal Willsey Resigns

May 21, 2008 - Ray Willsey, principal of Knightstown High School, is resigning his position after only one year on the job.

During its meeting Tuesday night, the Charles A. Beard School Board accepted Willsey's tendered letter of resignation, a brief correspondence dated May 5 and addressed to the school board. Willsey, who gave no reason for his departure, said in his letter that his last day will be June 30.

The CAB School Board hired Willsey last July to replace former Principal Jim Diagostino. Before coming to CAB, Willsely had been the assistant principal at Attica Jr.-Sr. High School.

CAB interim Superintendent Ray Pavy confirmed last week that Willsey would be leaving at the end of the current school year. CAB provided The Banner with a copy of Willsey's resignation letter on Monday.

When contacted last week, Willsey declined to discuss his resignation and would not even confirm he was leaving. "As far as that particular subject, I'm going to have to basically not comment until after the next board meeting," he said.
