 Lewisville’s Spring Bazaar April 19-20

April 9, 2008 - The Lewisville Community Center is hosting its Annual Spring Bazaar, featuring a variety of arts and crafts from local artists, on Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20.

The bazaar is again being held at the Historic Houston Brick, located at the corner of U.S. 40 and S.R. 103. There will be an event preview showing on Friday, April 18, at 6 p.m., which will include refreshments with a $3 admission. There is no charge for admission on Saturday and Sunday.

A variety of arts and crafts creations from local artists will be featured at the bazaar, including pottery, paintings, woodworking, handcrafts, quilts and live flowers. Many crafters from previous years' bazaars will be returning, such as God's Earth Pottery, Greg Adams (willow furniture), and Karen Jennings and Debbie Parrish (quilts and machine embroidery), and new crafters are expected as well.

Local antique stores, including the Old Trunk (Dublin), will feature a selection of their wares. There will also be a selection of decorative lawn and garden ornaments, plus plenty of homemade cookies, cakes, breads and preserves.

The bazaar's hours on Saturday will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Houston Brick Fund, which is used to preserve the 1845 federal style community center and utility office. For more information about the event, contact Lewisville Clerk-Treasurer Sue Saunders at (765) 987-7572.
