Gas America Fundraising Aimed at Riley Hospital
January 30, 2008 - Two Greenfield companies have successfully united to launch a new product this month aimed at raising $100,000 for the children at Riley Hospital for Children. The philanthropic beliefs of GasAmerica and Novelty, Inc. management have introduced Riley red wagon car magnets available for $3 exclusively at 75 Indiana GasAmerica convenience store locations.
The concept originated last spring during the WFMS Riley Radiothon Presented by GasAmerica. In an effort to secure additional funding for Riley Children’s Foundation, GasAmerica president Stephanie White invited fellow business partners to join the cause. Novelty, Inc. president and founder, Todd Green, who shares a passion for giving back to the community, responded to the call. Both companies have a deep passion for Riley Hospital, as many employees have required the services of Indiana’a only comprehensive children’s hospital.
Within weeks Green and GasAmerica Charitable Foundation chairman, Dennis Spegal, began discussing options to further fundraising efforts for Riley Children’s Foundation. Playing off the strengths of what each company had to offer, the companies decided to launch a new retail item which would be available in prime real estate space within GasAmerica stores.
This month, GasAmerica started their third annual fundraiser for Riley Children’s Foundation, offering the new car magnet product with an aggressive goal of generating $100,000 by Feb. 9. Thanks to each company’s generosity, 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit medical research and clinical programs at Riley Hospital for Children.
GasAmerica also remains as presenting sponsor of the WFMS Riley Radiothon and will sell Riley red wagon paper icons for a third consecutive year. Through these efforts, GasAmerica has provided more than $75,000 to Riley Children’s Foundation the past two years.
The 2008 WFMS Riley Radiothon Presented by GasAmerica takes place Feb. 7-9.
