Scholarship Applications Available
December 5, 2007 - The Rush County Community Foundation is proud to announce that scholarship applications for the 2008 – 2009 school year are now available. Applications and cover pages are available at the Guidance Department at Rushville Consolidated High School, Morton Memorial High School or, for Ripley Township students, Knightstown High School. They are also available at the Foundation office, or online at www.rushcounty.com/foundation.
“For the first time in our history we awarded over $80,000 in local scholarships to Rush County students last year.” stated Terry VanNatta, Foundation Assistant Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer. “Thanks to the generous support of the Rush County community we have now awarded over $500,000 in local scholarships to Rush County students since our first scholarships were awarded in 1995.”
Applications for the two Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships the Foundation will be awarding are now available. The scholarships are available to graduating seniors or nontraditional students who are Rush County residents and entering postsecondary education for the first time. The completed application package may be submitted to the Guidance Department of Rushville Consolidated High School, Knightstown High School or Morton Memorial High School. They may also be submitted to the Rush County Community Foundation office. Deadline for application for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is 4:00 PM, February 8, 2008.
Applications and cover pages for all local scholarship funds held at the Foundation are also available at this time. The cover page provides an explanation and any restrictions that are placed on the scholarship. A completed application package for each scholarship to which the student applies, may be submitted the Guidance Department of Rushville Consolidated High School, Knightstown High School or Morton Memorial High School. They may also be submitted to the Rush County Community Foundation office. Deadline for application for all local scholarship funds held at the Foundation is 4:00 PM, March 14, 2008.
“Our scholarship application and cover pages are revised each year.” VanNatta added. “All scholarship applicants will want to make sure they have the 2008 – 2009 application and the current cover sheets for their application to be considered.”
