KHS Dance Team Ready for Action

September 5, 2007 - The Knightstown High School Dance Team, Red Rhythm, is busy working on making this season bigger and better than last year, according to dance team coach Kelli Wiley. According to Wiley, the dancers came together before school started to work on their “pom” routine and to take time to get to know their teammates.

This year, the team consists of 16 girls ranging from grades 9–12. The dancers participating this year are Annie Braunschwieg, Brianna Bourdeau, Jessica Craig, Jessica Huffman, Cayla Simmermon, Mylee Simmermon, Krissy Reynolds, Samantha Maroska, Nicole Ostertag, Cammi Peters, Marie Blackburn, Hope Swincher, Haley Roché, Kaylon King, Jenna Hermida and Brandy Smith. Aside from Wiley, other coaches include Lindsay Nolen and Terri Simmermon.

Red Rhythm is getting ready to perform their pom routine at this Friday’s home football game and the October 5 home football game. Red Rhythm will also be working the fish wagon on September 7-8 to raise money for competition entry fees, costumes and other expenses. The dance team is expanding this year with the addition of the Knightstown Intermediate School dance team. This will allow students in grades 6- 8 to start studying dance.

“Red Rhythm is well on its way to having a terrific year and the dancers look forward to entertaining the Knightstown community,” Wiley said.
