Carthage Park, Fire Department Benefit from Rush Foundation

August 1, 2007 - The Board of Directors of the Rush County Community Foundation recently announced that several local non-profit organizations will benefit from grants given from the unrestricted funds endowed at the foundation. This was the second of three annual cycles in which Rush County non-profit organizations could apply for funding for their projects in 2007. Cycle III deadline will be October 15.

The following organizations received grants from the Cycle II, 2007 process:

*Town of Carthage - Toward the purchase and installation of trash receptacles and benches for the revitalization of McNabb Park

*Carthage Volunteer Fire Department – To assist with the purchase of two new Lifepak 1000 automated external defibrillators

“With the awarding of Cycle II 2007 Community Grants, the Rush County Community Foundation has passed another milestone in its history.” stated Ron Westerfeld, Foundation President. “Thanks to the generous financial support of the entire Rush County community the Foundation has now awarded over $500,000 in Community Grants to organizations throughout Rush County since our first grant in 1994. Needless to say, without the generosity of Rush County citizens and businesses this would not have been possible.”

If you are interested in learning about the grant process or would like an application, please stop by the Foundation office at 117 N. Main in Rushville of give them a call at 765-938-1177.

In its 16th year of meeting the philanthropic needs of Rush County, The Rush County Community Foundation, Inc., the Foundation of Rush County’s future, is a nonprofit public charity established to serve donors, award grants and scholarships, and provide leadership to enrich and enhance the quality of life in Rush County, Indiana, not only today, but for our future generations.

For more information please visit or contact Garry Cooley, Executive Director, or Terry VanNatta, Assistant Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, at their office at 117 N. Main St., Rushville, or call them at (765) 938-1177.
