Knightstown Town Council to Discuss Matter in Private

May 23, 2007 - The Knightstown Town Council has scheduled a private executive session and a special public meeting for Friday afternoon to deal with an unspecified personnel matter.

Official notice provided by the council indicates that the executive session, set to start at 3 p.m., is for the purpose of discussing an employee's job performance evaluation. Knightstown Clerk-Treasurer Judy Haines, who serves as the council's secretary, told The Banner on Tuesday that any official action the council may take with respect to the employee in issue will come during the special public meeting set to follow the executive session at 3:30 p.m.

Haines told The Banner she has not been given authority to divulge the identity of the employee whose job performance is being evaluated. She did, however, describe this as "a negative thing," and not a situation where the council will be rewarding an employee for a job well done.

Council President David Glenn also declined to provide details about what prompted Friday's executive session and special meeting. He said he was still in the process of gathering information.

Friday's executive session and special meeting will both be held in the council's meeting room at Knightstown Town Hall, 26 S. Washington.
