Spiceland Library Wants to Launch Story Time

February 14, 2007 - Spiceland Public Library is seeking parents of young children who are interested in participating in story and craft events.

“It’s been shown that children as young as 18 months can benefit from such an experience,” information from the library said. “We believe this time could benefit children by introducing books to children before the stress of the classroom; helping young children acclimate themselves to group experiences and shared play; and beginning the process of developing a love of reading.

“We hope parents can benefit by meeting and sharing with other parents; finding books the can enjoy sharing with their children; and seeing their children function in a group setting.”

Those interested in forming and participating may call Spiceland Elementary School at 987-7822 and leave their name and home phone number. The group won’t start immediately as the library is currently housed in a temporary location.
